The West Tower at the Fortress is progressing nicely. With the door lintel in place, the work continues on arrow slits. Did you know that the “windows” are big inside so the archer can move around to aim, but the outside is just a slit for the arrow to shoot out of to keep the enemy from entering through this opening? The construction of this type opening is complex, needing wooden shoring and carefully crafted sills and walls. Here we see Brad patiently shaping the arrow slit sill. Good work, Brad!
